The top two teams in the UPSHOT League fought for the win Friday night in Jacksonville, with the Crown ultimately falling 98-89.
The court saw lots of offensive rebounds once the contest started and a steady increase of points for both teams, with the Waves taking control of the scoreboard just before halftime. That Jacksonville lead would hold deep into the third quarter before the Crown stepped into action, pulling the visitors to within 10 points late, but they couldn’t quite catch up.
Schaquilla Nunn, who was named UPSHOT League Player of the Month today, posted another double-double with 15 points and 12 boards and hit her first three of the season, while Deja Kelly led the team with 23 points.
The Charlotte Crown will play the Jacksonville Waves on July 5th to fight their next big battle before they meet on the court again in August.
