The Crown’s lengthy road trek rolled on to Greensboro Friday night and the visitors took care of business en route to an 82-72 victory over the Groove.
The contest started in tight fashion, with the teams trading blows through the first quarter, but it didn’t take long for Charlotte to wrestle control of the game away from the home side. Hot starts from Deja Kelly and AD Durr pushed the Crown out to a 10-point lead at the half, and the visitors never looked back.
Despite missing a sidelined Shaquilla Nunn, the Crown remained in the driver’s seat the rest of the way – cruising to their second consecutive road victory.
Tonight’s tilt was the first of five straight games for the Crown in Greensboro, and the two squads will face off again tomorrow afternoon for a 4 p.m. tip-off.
