The Charlotte Crown stayed hot on Saturday, dispatching the Savannah Steel 81-72 to extend their league-record win streak to nine games.

Reigan Richardson led the way with a game-high 26 points for the Crown, who have not lost a game since July 11. Four of those wins came against the Steel, who have now dropped 12 straight.

Despite their recent dominance, the Crown did not pull away until the fourth quarter of this contest, having led by just three at halftime and then been locked in a tie game after three quarters. Richardson again played a role in the late surge, giving her team momentum by scoring through a foul – something she also did earlier in the game.

Deja Kelly (19) and KK Deans (12) also scored in double figures for the Crown.

The teams will play a rematch at Bojangles Coliseum tomorrow (Sunday) at 2 p.m.
