The Crown couldn’t quite right the ship Monday night, falling to the Greensboro Groove 89-73 for its second straight loss.
The two sides came out firing, but a 12-0 run for Greensboro near the end of the first quarter put the Groove in control, and the visitors never relented.
The Crown struggled from three, going 3-for-25, and could never quite close the gap on Greensboro – who were powered by big 21-point performances from Christyn Williams and Kamaria McDaniel.
Charlotte’s standouts included newcomer Michelle Onyiah’s double-double (10 points, 10 rebounds) and 14 points from Reigan Richardson. The Crown is now set to hit the road, visiting Savannah for tilts on Thursday and Friday.
