Heading into week two of training camp, the Charlotte Crown has made changes to its camp roster.
Charlotte has released three players from training camp – Kai Carter, Isabella Maurico and Ayanna Mazyck.
Additionally, the Crown has added guards Asia Durr, Dazia Lawrence and Deja Kelly and forward Elisia Grissett to the roster.
Durr – a two-time First-Team All American and two-time ACC Player of the Year at Louisville – was drafted second overall in 2019 by the WNBA’s New York Liberty and was hired as the Director of Scouting and Recruiting for the University of North Carolina-Charlotte women’s basketball team in 2024.
Lawrence – a Greenville native who played high school basketball in Charlotte and was named to the Charlotte Observer’s girls’ basketball all-decade team – played four years at UNCC before transferring to the University of Kentucky for the 2024-25 season.
Kelly was three-time First-Team All-ACC selection in a college career that saw her play for the University of North Carolina and the University of Oregon before playing in the Athletes Unlimited pro league last season.
Grissett played five seasons at the University of South Carolina from 2017-2022, holds the program record for career games played and helped the Gamecocks win the 2022 National Championship.
An updated roster can be found here. The Crown’s final roster is expected to be announced at the end of this week and the team will open its inaugural UPSHOT season with a road game on May 15.
