The Crown kept rolling in Greensboro Friday night, outlasting the Groove 86-81 to earn their third win in the last four contests against the Groove .
The two squads were evenly matched in the first half, trading blows that left the home team on top by one point at the midway point. The Crown were able to tilt the court in a big way during the third, however, outscoring the Groove 25-12 in that frame alone to build up a substantial lead heading into the fourth.
Greensboro punched back in the final quarter, pulling all the way back even at one point, but the Crown shook them off thanks to some clutch shooting from behind the arc and at the free throw line – surviving until the final buzzer to extend their win streak.
AD Durr was lights out from the field and led all scorers with 22 points on the night. Four other Crown players joined them in double figures – including Kiki Jefferson, who racked up 13 points in under 10 minutes of action.
The victory pushes the second-place Crown over .500 on the season, and they’ll look to keep that momentum with another road tilt in Greensboro on Sunday afternoon.
