The final regular-season matchup between the two UPSHOT League championship-bound squads lived up to the hype, as the Crown took down the Waves 99-94 in overtime.

Charlotte and Jacksonville traded blows across the course of regulation – the Crown carried a five-point lead into the half, but the Waves chipped all the way into it by the time the final stretch came. Each team had a chance in the waning moments to clinch the win but nothing fell, sending the contest to overtime.

The home side took control when it mattered in the extra frame, though. Deja Kelly capped off her game-best 22 points with a strong showing in overtime, and a powerful and-one play from Schaquilla Nunn sealed the deal for a Charlotte win.

The Crown have three games left in their regular-season slate – on the road on Friday and then back at the Coliseum for Saturday and Sunday – before heading to Florida for a shot at the inaugural UPSHOT League title.
