Today, UPSHOT announced that Charleston-based community leader and longtime advocate for women and girls in sport, Jordana Snider, has joined The Charlotte Crown ownership group through the Empower Her Fund. Snider brings previous professional sports ownership experience as a minority owner of Carolina Ascent FC and has an extensive background in community leadership and education.
“More opportunities for women to play professionally means more ways for all of us to watch them compete,” said Snider. “When girls see women performing at the highest level, they learn what it looks like to be strong and confident.”
Snider is an investor in Girlology, an organization dedicated to female health, and currently serves on the Board of Trustees at Mason Preparatory School in Charleston, where she previously served as Foundation Board Secretary. Before raising her three daughters, Jordana worked in documentaries for National Geographic and Discovery. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia.
The Charlotte Crown captured the inaugural UPSHOT Championship in August. As the league prepares for its second season in 2027, the Empower Her Fund’s investment reflects a shared commitment to growing women’s professional sports in Charlotte and increasing women’s participation in sports ownership.
