The Crown pulled off a stunning comeback in the inaugural UPSHOT League Championship, rallying in the fourth quarter to beat Jacksonville 81-76 and capture the league’s first-ever title.
After trailing for the majority of the contest, the Crown found themselves down by 10 early on in the fourth quarter but would not roll over. Powered by a star performance from Deja Kelly down the stretch, clutch threes from KK Deans and lockdown defense across the board, Charlotte flipped the script on the Waves from that point.
The Crown would go on to outscore Jacksonville 32-19 in the final frame, snagging the lead in the final minutes and refusing to let it go as the clock ticked down.
Kelly’s game-best 29 points earned her the Championship MVP award, while Deans and AD Durr each dropped in three three pointers and LeLe Grissett pulled down a team-leading seven boards.
