The Charlotte Crown kept their winning ways going Saturday at Bojangles Coliseum, rolling to an 88-72 win over the Greensboro Groove.

Charlotte grabbed control in the opening minutes and never let go, holding the lead for 37:03 of the 40-minute contest while Greensboro’s only advantage, a brief two-point edge in the first quarter, lasted just a few possessions before disappearing for good.

Charlotte shot 39.5% from the floor and got most of its damage from the bench, outscoring Greensboro’s reserves 56-26 and turning 17 Groove turnovers into points compared to just six the other way. The Crown also owned the paint, piling up 44 points inside to Greensboro’s 32. That steady possession by possession edge let Charlotte build to its largest lead of the night, 19 points, which didn’t come until the fourth quarter.

Reigan Richardson led all scorers with 24 points on 7-of-14 shooting and knocking down 9 of 10 free throws down the stretch, while LeLe Grissett added 21 points and a team-high 11 rebounds. Schaquilla Nunn chipped in 9 points and 6 boards as Charlotte closed out the win.

Charlotte will be back home tomorrow for its final game of the regular season, a rematch against the Greensboro Groove at 2 p.m., before the UPSHOT League championship gets underway on August 29.
