The Crown are back in action with a pair of mid-week tilts against the Groove – the first one coming at the Coliseum on Wednesday and the second one kickstarting a month-long road trip on Thursday. Before those matchups tip off, though, let’s take a look at some keys to the games.

KEEP IT ROLLING

After finding themselves mired in a six-game losing streak, the Crown have bounced back in a big way by taking down the Steel in back-to-back games. With two straight wins, Charlotte now sits just a game back of third-place Savannah in the UPSHOT League standings. The team will look to keep that positive momentum rolling as they host a second-place Greensboro squad that has dropped two of its last three contests.

PATROLLING THE PAINT

One of the biggest contributors for Charlotte as of late has been the tandem of Schaquilla Nunn and Michelle Onyiah down low. Nunn has been a force since joining the team in early June – earning back-to-back Queens University of Charlotte Royal of the Game honors over the last two contests – while Onyiah has emerged as one of the league’s premier post presences – leading UPSHOT in rebounds and recording double-digit points in five of her seven appearances.

NAILED IT

Charlotte’s win over Savannah on Sunday hinged on a clutch three pointer from Reigan Richardson in the waning moments of the game. That dagger snapped what had been a three-game drought for Richardson from behind the arc, and it pushed her to 11 points in the contest – which guided her to double-digit points in a game for the fifth time this season but the first time since May 29.
